Common questions
What does kitchen design cost in Toronto?
As a general guide from published 2026 Toronto-area fee guides, design for a single kitchen, with layout, cabinetry, selections and drawings, typically runs from about $5,000 to $15,000. Renovation costs, such as the contractor, materials and cabinetry, are separate. Every project has different and very specific requirements and priorities that are rarely the same from one project to the next, so we quote a fixed design fee in writing after your design consultation.
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
The design phase takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the project, because the layout, selections and custom cabinetry are settled before anything is built. Construction follows, and its length depends on cabinetry lead time, any permits and your contractor's schedule, so your contractor confirms the construction timeline. We give you a realistic timeline during the consultation.
Can we keep our existing kitchen layout?
Yes, and it often saves money. Moving plumbing, gas lines and walls is where kitchen budgets climb. We test your current layout first, show you where a change would genuinely improve how you cook and gather, and spell out what each change costs in budget and time so you decide.
Should we choose quartz or natural stone like quartzite?
Quartz is engineered, consistent from slab to slab and low maintenance. Natural stone such as quartzite has more variation and character, and some stones need sealing. Because natural stone varies slab by slab, we have you see the actual slab before you commit. Our Bridle Path kitchen used Taj Mahal quartzite for that reason.
Do you work with condo boards?
Yes. Most condo corporations require approval before a renovation, and many set rules for working hours, elevator bookings, insurance and flooring sound control. We design to those rules and prepare the drawings your board and property manager ask for. Check your corporation's rules before ordering anything.
