At a glance
This bedroom design in downtown Toronto covers approximately 90 square feet. It took 3 months from start to finish, with a project budget of about $16,000. Main materials: Wall paneling, furniture, upholstery.
The brief
The main bedroom in this downtown condo felt cramped and uninspiring. The client wanted it to feel more open without making it cluttered.
What we did
We limited the colour range to make the room read larger, then added depth through texture. Lighting is placed to bring out shadows and highlights across the surfaces.
Highlights
- Tonal layering of textiles and materials
- A custom upholstered headboard
- Finishes from matte to lustrous that catch light differently
- Furniture scaled to the room
The result
A bedroom that feels more spacious and still cozy.
